Follicular Unit Extraction\/Excision (FUE)<\/h4>\n

This hair transplantation method involves donor hair being removed individually from tissue from the back of the head using a small micro-punch (S.A.F.E. System \u2013 Surgically Advanced Follicular Extraction). A 1.0mm micro-punch is repeatedly used to make circular incisions in the skin creating individual grafts that are then extracted and observed under the microscope to ensure quality. The small, circular holes where the grafts are removed will heal naturally without the need for stitches. After recipient sites are created by our hair restoration surgeons, the grafts are then placed using the same technique as in FUT.<\/p>\n

The main advantages of FUE include quicker healing time with less pain and swelling, absence of a line scar, and the ability to wear the hair short. The cost of an FUE procedure tends to be greater compared to Follicular Unit Transplantation. LEARN MORE >><\/a><\/p>\n

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)<\/h4>\n

The donor site is closed in a fine line with well-places sutures to minimize the scar. Donor hair grafts are microscopically extracted from this tissue by our skilled hair specialist team. Grafts are then transplanted to recipient site areas created by our hair transplant surgeons in a fashion that yields the most natural, high density result.<\/p>\n

Although the cost of hair restoration procedures varies based on an individual\u2019s hair loss severity and desires, a FUT procedure is typically less expensive than a FUE procedure. Another difference between the two procedures is that FUT results in a thin line scar on the back of the head where the donor tissue strip was taken (as opposed to more subtle, sub-millimeter, round scars). Although we pride ourselves on minimizing this scar for the best cosmetic outcome, it may be noticeable when hair is cut short.
